Vélo Champ is Moving to Florida Avenue

After 6 Years, Vélo Champ Is Moving!

Following an exciting six years at our space on Central Avenue, we are now moving into a improved and spacious location here in Seminole Heights. We are looking forward to a number of changes with this new property, including direct access along the Florida Avenue bike lane, an expanded service department, and plenty of outdoor green space.

Our new bicycle shop, located in a mid-century, art deco commercial building at 4415 N. Florida Avenue, features nearly 3000 sq ft of street-level retail space, doubling the space available at our previous location.

While the move is taking place, we are excited to share the news of our growth, and continue to engage our customers, friends and neighbors. We expect to be operating at our new Florida Ave. location beginning October 3rd, 2016.

As long-time residents here in Seminole Heights, we regard many of the other businesses, owners and residents as our friends and kindred company. We feel that the concern, input, collaboration and support of community is critical to the growth and success of the neighborhood we call home. We are excited to move our business even closer to so many of those we regard as our kindred company.

After 6 Years, We’re Moving..!

We’re excited to finally share the news, that after six years on Central Avenue, we are officially MOVING! Bigger and better with much nicer storefront! We are looking forward to a larger service department, bigger beer fridge, plenty of outdoor, green space and still right here in Seminole Heights! Stay tuned for further announcements and details! In meantime, it is business as usual at our Central Avenue location.

Vélo Champ featured in Southern Living Magazine

This has been a few months in the making, and we could not be more excited! The March 2013 issue of Southern Living Magazine features a new story on our historic neighborhood of Seminole Heights along with features on the prospering businesses that call the neighborhood home. We’re included here, with nice, big photo front and center showing off a few cyclocross bikes along with our fearless shop dog, Radar! Mentioning Tampa’s Seminole Heights as of one the countries ‘next great neighborhoods’, the article includes a mention of several restaurants, bars and other specialty shops.

Best New Bike Shop ‘Loafie’ award from Creative Loafing

A huge thanks goes out to Tampa’s Creative Loafing as well as friends, family, customers and the Tampa Bay cycling community at large for our 2011 Best of the Bay 2011 ‘Loafie Award’ for ‘Best New Bike Shop’.

It’s great to receive this awards alongside bicycle companies like Profile Racing, and organizations like South West Florida Bicycle United Dealers (SWFBUD).

We look forward to this award being the first of many! Thanks again.
